C.O.T.
Agent #026: Christopher Vaught
Before concentrating on fiction, Vaught was one of
the most popular personages in the WWWF
(World
Wildlife Wrestling Federation), a back-alley wrestling league that pitted
man against animal in matches of skill and strength. Vaught (a/k/a/ "The Vaughtinator")
first achieved WWWF fans' acclaim--and animal rights activists' admonishment--when
he executed wrestling legend The Iron Sheik's patented "Camel Clutch" on an
actual camel. Vaught further increased his fame and notoriety when he dislocated
a Panda's spine using his own patented finishing move, "The Vaught Drop".
However, Vaught absconded from the WWWF after the accidental in-ring death
of one of his opponents, a giraffe, resulting from a brain hemorrhage when
he struck it in the head with an electric can opener he was swinging by its
extension cord. Known as one of the WWWF's fiercest competitors, The Vaughtinator
held the belts for both the WWWF Championship and the Tag Team Championship
when he retired from the league. Legend has it that Vaught made occasional
appearances in various Mexican wrestling leagues as the masked desperado,
"El Guapo". To this day, Vaught will neither confirm nor deny these
reports. In 2001 Vaught emerged in the WCW in an unannounced match against
Colonel Mustafa and Sgt. Slaughter. He won the bout single-handedly, cementing
his stature as a wrestling legend. In 2005 "The Vaughtinator" was elected
to the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame, presented with the honor by fellow
Hall of Famer Junkyard Dog. Today Vaught lives in Murray, Kentucky where he
spends innumerable nights at his favorite haunt, The Huddle House, drinking
sweet tea and working on the longest novel in history.
UPDATE!!!
Uh, if you were thinking about actually trying to track down Vaught, we suggest
that you don't check The Huddle House in Murray, Kentucky. We could
tell you why, we guess, but we won't.
