Poetry
Mark Lawrence
Untitled #3

Class jazz with Victor Martin,
saxophone accompanied by bass
standing up and a man with a Spanish
guitar...wham bam feely flam.
Lenny Bruce would have fell in love.
Listen like Cocaine. Listen like
Vicadin. Stand alive, make victims
of foolish sentimentals. You must
give respect to the jazz musicians.
Give respect to the chef who cooks the food.
I had a girl once, she learned to
love jazz and the chef. I remember
he locks and legs. She is sexual,
dancing in my imagination. I am
free like the sea. I am just a tramp.
